Forest School

At Oakview School, Forest School is a distinctive and valued part of our curriculum, offering pupils meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. In partnership with BE Free Forest School, a specialist outdoor learning provider, we deliver engaging sessions for children across Years 1 to 6, building on the strong foundations established in our Early Years provision.

BE Free designs and delivers programmes that nurture independence, self-esteem, resilience, problem-solving skills, and overall well-being, while encouraging a deep connection with and love for the natural world.

Rooted in the Scandinavian education system, Forest School is based on six key principles that promote child-led, experiential learning through play in natural environments. Children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and develop practical skills through hands-on exploration and discovery.
