Family Liaison

At Oakview we are lucky to have Mrs Kanuni, our Family Liaison Officer. Her primary role is to support the families of our school.

If you feel Mrs Kanuni can provide you with any support there are various ways to contact her. Some people like to come in for a cup of tea and a chat, some families like to talk over the phone, others like to approach her in the playground at the beginning or at the end of the school day. The idea is that where possible, she will listen and guide you to the help you need. Things can be as formal or as informal as you like….. it’s your call – the main thing is that Mrs Kanuni is there to help you, your children and your family.

Sometimes life throws us into challenging situations which can be difficult to deal with. Mrs Kanuni is there to help you at those difficult times, whether talking things through to help you find a solution, or to point you in the direction of someone who can offer further assistance. It doesn’t always have to be directly about the children, other things in your life can affect them too. If you’re not happy, your children usually pick up on it, often leaving them feeling unsettled. Whenever you feel you need a friendly face for help, support and advice, Mrs Kanuni is there for you.

Family Hub:

We are delighted to have our Family HUB which runs daily from drop off in the morning until 10.30am. All parents are welcome. Follow the signs from the main school entrance. Parents are invited:

  • To drop in with children who are not of school age. There will be opportunities for children and parents to engage in daily fun activities and a healthy snack. We also hope to offer art, music, PE and Forest School taster sessions.
  • To share and borrow books and games.
  • To meet other parents in our school.
  • To find out useful information about the school and things happening in the area.
  • To meet our Family Liaison Officer who will be on hand to signpost parents to support they may need or help with any queries or just pop in for a chat.
  • Tea and coffee will be available.
  • There will also opportunities to attend sessions with the speech and language therapist /SENCO where parents can seek advice. We hope parents in our school community will find this space useful and benefit from what we have to offer. We are open to your suggestions as to what else we may be able to provide in the future.
